This Week...Integrated Language Arts
Reading-
Students continue to review key concepts. This week we move back to Nonfiction and will focus on analyzing and inferencing persuasive text, and looking at the positive/negative impact of advertising techniques.
Students need to continue to review and commit to memory the many genres we've studied this year such as:
Nonfiction - Informational and Biography
Fiction - Realistic, Historical, Science Fiction, Fantasy, Folktale/Trickster Tales.
Please remember that students may log on 30 minutes at a time in iStation throughout the week. Even though it is not assigned as homework, 4th graders should be reading 20-30minutes on a nightly basis, as much as possible. This helps increase focus and stamina!
Writing/Grammar-4th grade continues to work on sharpening their skills regarding Expository essays. We'll work on Exploding the Moment, Talking to the Reader and Adding Some Attitude! 5-Minute Daily Language returns this week!
Spelling- Next Spelling Test will be Friday, April 28th.
